✨ Toy Box, Good toys. Great memories.

Toy Box first opened its doors in 1990, founded by Mr. Hartmut Fahrbach as a branch of Otto Günther. From the very beginning, Mrs. Gerti Müller was part of the team, and her dedication and passion for toys led her to take over the business a few years later. She successfully ran Toy Box for about 10 years before selling it to Mr. Detlef Rix on 1 November 2003.
Under Mr. Rix's ownership, Toy Box continued to grow and became a beloved destination for toys, games, and gifts in Swakopmund for almost 20 years.
On 1 March 2023, Mrs. Uta Hoffmann became the new owner, continuing the proud Toy Box tradition with a modern touch and the same joyful spirit that has defined the store since its beginning.
Over the years, Toy Box has moved through various locations within Swakopmund's town centre, finally settling at its current home 10 Hendrik Witbooi Street on 1 November 2012.
From its early days to today, Toy Box remains Swakopmund's oldest toy shop, a place where fun, imagination, and nostalgia come together.

Our Story
⚓ History of LEGO at Toy Box
The story of LEGO in Swakopmund began in 1985, when the first LEGO sets arrived through Kaufhaus Boysen, owned by Mr. H. Calow. For six years, LEGO delighted local families under Boysen’s roof, becoming a well-loved name in town.
On 31 January 1990, Mr. Hartmut Fahrbach of Otto Günther Trading Co. took over the entire toy section from Kaufhaus Boysen, including the legendary LEGO ship, marking the beginning of a new chapter for LEGO in Swakopmund.
Just a few weeks later, on 17 March 1990, Toy Box officially opened its doors as a branch of Otto Günther, carrying forward the LEGO line as part of its collection.
Originally supplied by South West Wholesalers, represented by David and Robert Gamsu, the official LEGO agents at the time, LEGO has now been part of Swakopmund’s story for nearly 40 years and part of Toy Box for over three decades.
Today, Toy Box proudly continues this long-standing LEGO tradition, inspiring creativity and building memories across generations.
